Sri Lanka, May 21 -- Annual maintenance expenses for the complete 312.57 km expressway network reach Rs 5.18 billion, Transport, Highways, and Urban Development Minister Bimal Rathnayake announced. He revealed these figures in Parliament yesterday while answering a query from Opposition Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake.

A breakdown of the maintenance outlays for the specific routes indicates that the 200.45 km E01 Southern Expressway from Kottawa to Mattala requires Rs 2.024 billion, while the 28.86 km E02 Outer Circular Highway running from Kottawa to Kerawalapitiya takes Rs 767.6 million.
