Sri Lanka, Oct. 5 -- An express train operating from Peradeniya to Colombo Fort derailed this morning (5) between the Gangoda and Kadigamuwa railway stations.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 this morning due to earth and rocks falling onto the railway track.

The front portion of the train sustained damage as a result of the derailment.
