Sri Lanka, July 27 -- Eleven more skeletal remains were discovered yesterday (26), during excavations at the Chemmani Sitthupattu mass grave in Jaffna, considered the second-largest mass grave found in Sri Lanka's Northern Province.
According to excavation officials, this brings the total number of human bodies identified from the site to approximately 101.
The finding of 11 bodies in a single day marks the highest number discovered on any given day during the current excavation.
The excavation of the Chemmani Sitthupattu mass grave began last May, following orders from the Jaffna Magistrate's Court, and has been carried out in several stages.
Further excavation is currently underway at forensic sites designated as Nos. 01 and 02.
