Sri Lanka, Oct. 4 -- The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that its decision regarding the Ceylon Electricity Board's (CEB) proposal to increase electricity tariffs by 6.8% will be delivered within two weeks.
A spokesperson for the Commission stated that the final determination is expected on or around October 15.
The process of soliciting public opinion on the proposed tariff revision is currently underway. The spokesperson confirmed that the final decision will be made after the last public consultation session for the Western Province is held on October 8.
The PUCSL confirmed that the tariff revision will be conducted in accordance with the Electricity Act and the Electricity Tariff Price Formula.
