Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- The Sri Lanka Export Development Board is stepping up efforts to expand the country's mineral export sector by focusing on the graphite industry.

Following a recent field visit to Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC, EDB officials observed the complete extraction and processing sequence to support strategies for enhancing value addition and international market access.

Officials noted that Sri Lanka remains the only country in the world producing natural crystalline vein graphite commercially.

The mineral is prized for its high carbon purity across advanced industrial and emerging technology sectors.
