Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Police have seized a stock of narcotics worth Rs. 16.8 million at Bandaranaike International Airport.

Officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau discovered the haul inside the men's washroom near Arrival Gate 05 early this morning (20).

It included 422 grams of "kush" and 1.262 kilogrammes of "hashish", packed separately.

An airport employee first noticed the package at around 1:30am and alerted the Customs Narcotics Control Unit, which then informed the Police Narcotics Bureau.

Further investigations are under way.
