Sri Lanka, Aug. 16 -- A driver from a cash transport company has been arrested by Bambalapitiya Police for stealing a bag containing over Rs. 10 million.
The Police stated that the bag had Rs. 10,396,000.
The incident occurred on August 13 when a team of four, including the driver, collected cash from 15 ATM booths in Colombo.
A senior operations manager of the company, located on Fonseka Place in Bambalapitiya, filed a police complaint after only 14 out of the 15 money bags were handed over.
The missing bag was from a private bank's ATM booth in Wellawatta.
An investigation, conducted under the guidance of Bambalapitiya Police Station OIC Chief Inspector Sampath Padmalal, led to the suspect's arrest in less than 24 hours.
