Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama yesterday (30) ordered that a dock clerk, Ajith Aruna from Horana, be further remanded until October 14.

The clerk is accused of accepting a bribe of approximately LKR 4,050,000 from a businessman to clear a container imported from a foreign country.

The order was issued after the Bribery Commission requested continued remand, stating that further investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The Commission previously informed the court that statements from several officials working at Sri Lanka Customs need to be recorded in connection with this case.
