Sri Lanka, Aug. 17 -- The Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, says that Diyatalawa Base Hospital will be developed as an A-grade hospital to meet the health needs of the tourism sector and the local population.

The Minister made the statement while participating in a special inspection tour of the hospital.

He said that the health status of the Diyatalawa area, which is a priority for population, natural resources, and tourism, would also be improved.

Dr. Jayatissa also assured the hospital staff that the facilities at Diyatalawa Base Hospital would not be reduced to develop another hospital.
