Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- The new three-storey Medical Ward Complex at the Dharga Town Divisional Hospital, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.1 billion was commissioned and opened to the public the day before yesterday (September 29).

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr Nalinda Jayatissa, as the chief guest.

The new building complex was constructed under the Health Facilities Improvement Project, which was funded by the Government of China.

Spanning 38,400 square feet, the complex includes four wards, comprising a four-bed Emergency Treatment Unit and two wards for children and mothers with a combined capacity of 96 beds.
