Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- Detention orders were obtained for the arrested Sri Lanka Freedom Party Medirigiriya organiser, Chintaka Terence Wijerathne.

This was after producing facts before the Polonnaruwa Court following his arrest on narcotics trafficking charges.

Meanwhile, his wife, who was arrested in connection with the incident, was also remanded.

The suspects were arrested on August 7 at the Doradeka Junction area in Hingurakgoda while transporting narcotics on a motorcycle, and police mentioned that 15 grams of narcotics were found in their possession.
