Sri Lanka, Aug. 10 -- Deputy Minister of Tourism, Professor Ruwan Ranasinghe, says that the Gardmore Waterfall area in Maskeliya will be developed into a tourist destination by next year.
The Deputy Minister made the comments during an observation tour of the area.
He said that developing tourist attractions like this would also help improve the economic situation of the local population.
The Minister said that a lot of tourists visit the area at present, but lack the necessary facilities.
He went on to say that the government plans to allocate funds in the next budget to build modern facilities, including a helicopter landing pad.
