Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- Several spells of showers are expected today (27) in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts, the Department of Meteorology announced.

Furthermore, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Uva and Eastern provinces, alongside the Polonnaruwa, Mullaitivu, and Hambantota districts after 2:00 PM.

The Department of Meteorology has advised the general public to take adequate precautions to minimise potential risks and damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning strikes during thundershowers.
