Sri Lanka, Sept. 6 -- The number of deaths caused by dengue fever so far this year has risen to 73.

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that the total number of dengue cases reported so far stands at 96,363.

Meanwhile, 872 dengue patients have been reported within the first four days of September alone.
