Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- Sri Lanka recorded over 100,000 dengue cases during the first nine months of the year, according to figures released by the National Dengue Control Unit.

The total number of reported cases reached 100,127 during this period.

Case counts remained considerably lower in 2025, when total reported dengue cases stood at around 51,000. Current figures show that infections nearly doubled compared to the previous year.

Members of the public should remain vigilant, as recent rainy weather could accelerate the spread of the disease across affected areas.
