Sri Lanka, June 27 -- Global accounting firm Deloitte has submitted an interim report on its forensic review of the fraud within the National Development Bank.

While the report remains confidential, it confirms that the value of the suspicious transactions is Rs. 13.5 billion.

This was disclosed in a letter sent by the bank to the Colombo Stock Exchange.

Local investigations had previously put the total value of the sum in question around the same mark.

The review is being conducted by Deloitte India, and the bank notes that it will make further disclosures as appropriate.
