Sri Lanka, July 4 -- A special meeting took place at the Ministry of Defence to find immediate solutions for waste disposal and management challenges within the Colombo Municipal Council area.

Defence Secretary retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha chaired the session.

The Ministry of Defence announced that the Defence Secretary highlighted the need for maximum inter-agency coordination to overcome the crisis, particularly due to the high risk of dengue spread during the current rainy weather.

He also instructed officials to streamline the waste collection process.
