Sri Lanka, Aug. 8 -- One person died and 11 people sustained injuries following the unrest that arose within the Borella New Magazine Prison in the night of August 6.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old inmate named Mohamed Asman Sheriffdeen, a resident of the Homaagama Katuwana area.

He was initially suspected as the gunman in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder.

Sheriffdeen has been accused of multiple murders, including a double murder that occurred on Watarappala Road in Mount Lavinia and a double murder in Negombo. Multiple cases are filed against him in several courts, including Galle, Ampara, Negombo, and Homaagama, and he is believed to be the contract gunman of the alleged organised criminal gang member 'Homaagama Handay...
