Sri Lanka, Jan. 4 -- All schools in the Badulla District will reopen tomorrow (5) for the start of the first term of 2026, according to District Secretary Prabath Abeywardana.

The district was severely impacted by Cyclone Ditwah, which led to several schools being used as temporary welfare centres for displaced residents.

The District Secretary confirmed that even the schools previously used for emergency housing have been prepared and will be ready for students tomorrow morning (5).

The Central Provincial Education Office also announced that preparations are complete to reopen the majority of schools in the province.

Out of the 1,507 schools in the Central Province, 1,494 are scheduled to resume academic activities tomorrow.
