Sri Lanka, Aug. 10 -- Thilina Sampath, a key associate of organised crime figure "Kehelbaddara Padme" and also known as 'Walas Kata', has been injured while allegedly attempting to escape from the third floor of the Western North Crimes Division.
Police say he suffered a bone fracture and has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment, where he remains under police guard.
This new development comes after a series of police investigations, which revealed a number of assassination plots.
Officers say that information gathered from the interrogation of another recently arrested criminal, 'Pas Deva', and from the mobile phone data of both suspects, led to the new discoveries.
