Sri Lanka, July 29 -- The driver of the crane involved in the fatal collision near the Borella Cemetery Roundabout yesterday (28), is scheduled to be produced in court today (29).

A medical examination conducted yesterday confirmed that the suspect had been under the influence of cannabis.

The owner of the crane, which belongs to a private company, was also arrested by the police yesterday in connection with the incident.

Further investigations have revealed that the accident was caused by the driver's negligence and reckless driving.

The crane, which was travelling from Rajagiriya towards Kirulapone along Bauddhaloka Mawatha, lost control near the Borella Cemetery Roundabout and initially crashed into a wall of the cemetery.
