Sri Lanka, July 31 -- The Colombo High Court sentenced two Police Sergeants to nine years in prison after finding them guilty on three charges.

The charges included incidents that occured after visiting a restaurant in Dehiwala, behaving riotously, assaulting an employee, and causing 19,500 rupees worth of damage to the establishment.

Judge Rashmi Singappuli ordered that the prison terms be served concurrently over a period of three years.

The Attorney General filed the case regarding the incident that occurred on August 29, 2008.
