Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- The Court of Appeal today (23) extended the undertaking that Kehelbaddara Padme, an alleged drug trafficker currently detained by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), will remain in the Department's custody until December 2.
The undertaking was extended with the consent of the Deputy Solicitor General, who appeared for the respondents when the writ application filed by Kehelbaddara Padme's mother was called before the Court of Appeal today.
The petition seeks an order to ensure the safety and security of her son, who is currently in detention.
