Court challenges Yoshitha's charge
Sri Lanka, June 16 -- The Court of Appeal concluded the hearing of a petition filed by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and announced that its order will be delivered on July 03rd.
The petition requests a ruling that the charge of "conspiracy" cannot be maintained in the case filed against him by the Attorney-General under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
When the petition was taken up for hearing, Attorney-at-Law Hafeel Farisz submissions on behalf of the petitioner Yoshitha Rajapaksa, while Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara submissions on behalf of the Attorney-General.
