Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- The Committee on Public Finance (COPF) of Parliament approved the estimated Appropriation Bill for the 2027 financial year.

This was extensively discussed with officials from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development during a special committee meeting held on the 22nd at the Parliament complex, chaired by Member of Parliament Dr Harsha de Silva.

During the meeting, Finance Ministry officials presented details regarding the estimated government expenditure, capital allocations, state revenue targets, and debt servicing for the year 2027.

The committee also focused on the macroeconomic forecasts used in preparing the budget estimates and the legal framework for public finance management.
