Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- Health specialists report a growing prevalence of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), also known as Digital Eye Strain, among adults aged 20 to 45.
This condition significantly worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the widespread adoption of Work From Home arrangements and Online Studying.
Consultant Cornea Surgeon at the National Eye Hospital, Dr. Kusum Rathnayake, stated that the primary cause is the prolonged use of computers, mobile phones, and other digital devices. He made these remarks at an event held at the National Eye Hospital in Colombo.
Symptoms of the condition include eye discomfort, blurred vision, headaches, fatigue, and dry eyes.
