Sri Lanka, Aug. 15 -- A committee has been appointed, under the supervision of the Attorney General's Department, to make recommendations on two upcoming cyber security bills. This action was taken on the President's instructions.

Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne stated that the committee will review and recommend provisions for two new institutions: one to handle cyber security for national security and another to oversee cyber security in public and private institutions.

The government's goal is to pass these bills quickly as part of its program to strengthen national cyber security.
