Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- Senior State Counsel Oswald Perera informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has received 20,931 complaints regarding the illegal pyramid financial scam operated via the "Onmax DT Private Limited" website.

The State Counsel noted that complaints were gathered from police stations across the country following a structured plan to allow aggrieved parties to come forward between July 25 and December 2, 2025.

Due to the increasing number of complaints, the estimated scale of the financial fraud has surged to Rs. 11 billion.
