Sri Lanka, Aug. 20 -- An investigation into an alleged treasure hunting in Anuradhapura has taken a dramatic turn, as the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) uncovers potential links between a group of suspects - including the wife of a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) - and the DIG himself.
According to CID sources, evidence has surfaced suggesting that the DIG may have visited the location where the illegal excavation reportedly took place, prior to the arrest of his wife and seven others connected to the case.
The CID is currently reviewing CCTV footage to verify the presence of the DIG at the scene.
