Sri Lanka, Aug. 17 -- It is reported that the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) is to file legal action against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody over allegations of misappropriation of funds during his tenure at the Fertiliser Corporation in 2015.
The report alleges that the minister and two others misappropriated Rs. 8 million
The case against them is expected to filed in the High Court.
Jayakody had served as the head of the tender board that awarded the contract which later came under investigation.
He would be the first minister in the current government to face such charges.
