Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Trade unions at the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will continue their work-to-rule campaign until midnight tomorrow.

The unions began the industrial action on September 4 in protest against the new bill to restructure the CEB.

Unions say they will continue to fight against what they call the negative consequences of the new bill and will also report the matter to the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

The protest follows a previous two-day sick-leave campaign and demonstrations held in front of the CEB headquarters.

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody said that the government has not made any decision to reduce the benefits of electricity workers.
