Sri Lanka, July 21 -- The Central Crime Investigation Bureau informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today (21) that it intends to file charges under the Anti Corruption Act against the former OIC of the Welikada Police for allegedly demanding bribe of Rs. 300,000 to release passports of 19 Chinese nationals arrested in connection with an internet scam without presenting them to court on the due date.

This was stated when the case related to the incident was called at the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
