Sri Lanka, July 28 -- The Colombo High Court has ordered the case filed by the Bribery Commission against former Minister of Women's Affairs, Chandrani Bandara, under the charge of "corruption," to be called on September 4.
The case was heard today (4), before Colombo High Court Judge Sahan Mapa Bandara.Appearing for the defendant Chandrani Bandara, President's Counsel Nalin Laduwahetty informed the court that he intends to raise preliminary objections, stating that the indictment cannot be sustained or proceeded with.
The officer representing the Bribery Commission stated that the relevant documents for the case would be submitted to the court and handed over to the defence.
