Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal for the country to become a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Cybercrimes (UNCC).
This decision comes following the convention's adoption at the 55th main session of the United Nations General Assembly in December 2024.
The UNCC was established to develop strategies to tackle various serious cybercrimes across the globe.
By joining this new convention, Sri Lanka will enhance its capacity to prevent and combat cybercrimes.
