Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority has initiated legal action against 104 parties across 22 districts following special islandwide raids targeting the improper labelling of lunch sheets and the free distribution of plastic "sili" bags.

According to the authority, the special operations were launched in response to a surge in complaints received from consumers and various interested parties regarding non-compliance with retail regulations.

The Consumer Affairs Authority stated that islandwide monitoring will continue to ensure traders adhere to consumer protection standards.
