Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- The Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority has stated that issuing and receiving tickets on private buses will be mandatory from the first of next month.

Chairman Gamini Jayasinghe stated in an interview that legal action will be taken against both conductors who do not issue tickets and passengers who fail to obtain them.

He added that GPS tracking systems and card payment facilities will also be introduced on buses before the end of the year.
