Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- A family of British tourists has shared their frustration with Sri Lanka's immigration system, describing the process of extending their stay as "the most painful experience ever."

The travellers, known as The Hutchinsons, documented their visit to the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Battaramulla after arriving in the country under a visa-free scheme. They reported that the attempt to secure an extension was marred by a significant lack of clear procedures for international visitors.

The family expressed their disappointment on social media, noting that the bureaucratic hurdles outweighed the benefit of staying longer.
