Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- The driver of a van and his grandmother died following a road incident where the van collided on to an electricity post near the Magalegoda-Naiwala road in the Veyangoda police division yesterday around 5 p.m., according to the Veyangoda Police.

The deceased were identified as Navod Chathuranga, a 24-year-old youth residing in Heendeniya, Veyangoda who drove the van, and his grandmother, 80-year-old W.A. Wikramarachchi.

The incident occurred while returning home after elder sister's wedding.

The bride's brother drove the van, while nine individuals, including the bride's grandmother, mother, and father, were travelling together.
