Sri Lanka, July 17 -- A body buried in a plot behind a house in Haldola Kanda, Warapitiya, Walasmulla, was exhumed today (17) under orders from the Walasmulla Magistrate's Court.

The exhumation followed a confession made by the deceased man's wife to the police.

The 58-year-old victim had been missing for nearly two months since May 11.

However, no police complaint had been filed until the victim's sister lodged one for the first time on July 8.

Walasmulla Police launched an investigation based on this complaint and recorded a statement from the missing man's wife.

The suspect confessed to the police that an argument had erupted between her and her husband on the 11th of May, during which she had assaulted him.
