Sri Lanka, May 26 -- Health and Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said that a bill to annul the seats of MPs who switch parties against the public mandate will be brought to Parliament soon.

He made these remarks at today's Cabinet media briefing.

The Minister also stated that the government has no intention or attempt to bring any opposition MPs into the ruling party.

"The people of this country elected a new Parliament in November 2024. They gave 159 seats to the government side and others to the opposition. We respect that mandate.
