Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The Trincomalee Magistrate's Court today ordered that ten individuals, including four Buddhist monks, remain in remand custody until February 11. The group, which includes Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thera and the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Bodhiraja Viharaya, were produced in court following the expiration of their previous remand term.

The suspects face charges related to the unauthorised installation of a Buddha statue and the construction of a structure within a protected coastal zone on Fort Road.
