Sri Lanka, March 24 -- Colombo Additional Magistrate H.D.D.J. Premaratne ordered the release of a young woman on two personal bails of Rs. 500,000 each today (24).
The Department of Wildlife Conservation produced the suspect, identified as Nethmi Hiranya, in court following an incident where she allegedly danced with a python wrapped around her neck during a "Royal Avurudu Kumara Kumariya" pageant in Colombo.
Investigating officers informed the court that the suspect was arrested when she arrived at the Department of Wildlife Conservation earlier today to provide a statement.
Officials noted that the animal used in the performance was reportedly provided by an individual from the Buttala area, and efforts are underway to apprehend him....
