Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- The residence of Sanjaya Samarasinghe, the personal secretary to Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, in Mount Lavinia was searched in a joint operation involving the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), the Police and the Police Special Task Force, according to Manoj Gamage, Attorney-at-Law and spokesperson for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Gamage said the search began at around 10.30 p.m. yesterday (16) and continued until approximately 4.30 a.m. today (17).

According to the lawyer, officers searched the entire house and recorded statements during the operation.
