Sri Lanka, Sept. 21 -- A "Clean Sri Lanka" programme was conducted yesterday, September 20, by Army personnel and police officers along a section of the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya main road.

Soldiers from the 642nd Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Hatton Kotagala and officers from the Hatton Police worked in two groups to clear plastic, polythene, and other solid waste that had been discarded by travellers.

The Hatton Dickoya Urban Council and the Kotagala Pradeshiya Sabha provided their full support for the initiative.
