Sri Lanka, Aug. 22 -- The government is ensuring that the law will be implemented equally regardless of a person's title or position, according to Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala.
Making a special statement in Parliament today (22), the Minister stressed that titles such as Inspector General of Police, Deputy IGP, or former President are not relevant when it comes to the law. He stated that any person who has committed an illegal act will be brought to justice.
Minister Wijepala added that when the National People's Power (NPP) took power, the country was facing not only economic bankruptcy but also severe political and social deterioration.
