Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- Alleged organised crime figure 'Kehelbaddara Padme', who is reportedly in hiding overseas, has allegedly made death threats over the phone to Chief Inspector Linton Silva of the Western Province North Crimes Division.
The threat was allegedly made in protest of the arrest of one of 'Kehelbaddara Padme's' supposed closest associates, Dissanayakege Devanmini Dissanayaka, also known as 'Gampaha Pasdeva'.
'Pasdeva' was arrested by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Katunayake Airport yesterday (3) while attempting to flee to Thailand.
He was scheduled to be produced before the Gampaha Magistrate's Court this evening (4)for a detention order to be obtained.
