Sri Lanka, Oct. 24 -- Air Force Commander Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe announced that three aircraft have been deployed to conduct surveillance operations in the Southern and Western seas to curb illegal activities, including drug trafficking.
The Commander made this statement during his visit to Kandy to meet and receive blessings from the Chief Prelate Theros of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters.
He first met the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, the Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero, who emphasized that, in addition to drug raids, a program should be developed to control trafficking by coordinating with authorities in the countries from which the drugs are being imported.
