Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The Attorney General's (AG) Department has informed the Court of Appeal that a specialised expert report on motor capacity of BYD vehicles is expected be released within the next few weeks.

The vehicles, which had been held by Sri Lanka Customs, were released previously under bank guarantees.

The update was provided by Additional Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardena during a hearing for a writ petition filed by John Keells CGC.

The committee, which includes academics and representatives from the AG's department and the Department of Motor Traffic, is tasked with verifying whether the vehicles' motor capacity is 100 kW or 150 kW.
