Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (AASL) has sought an explanation from Turkish Airlines over the damage caused to the sports equipment of world javelin champion Rumesh Tharanga when he returned to Sri Lanka.

A discussion on the incident was held yesterday (15) at the Civil Aviation Authority premises under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Janith Ruwan Kodithuwakku.

The meeting was attended by Ministry Secretary W.W.W.S. Mangala, Civil Aviation Authority Director General Captain Daminda Rambukwella, Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Retired Colonel Ranjith Rajasinghe and representatives of Turkish Airlines.
