Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- H. C. D. L. Silva, a Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, retired from the public service on October 06 upon reaching the age of 60.

Subsequently, the Cabinet has approved a proposal put forward by the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, to appoint A. N. Hapugala to the resulting vacant post of Deputy Secretary to the Treasury.

Hapugala, an officer in the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Accountants' Service, currently serves as the Director-General of Treasury Operations.
